Call for nomination to the AFS 14th Council and Award Nomination 2022

Dear AFS Members,

This is to formally notify all AFS members and councilors that the 13th General Assembly (GA) of the Asian Fisheries Society will be held virtually on 1st June 2022. During the GA, councilors for the 14th Council will be elected and confirmed.

Nominations for AFS members to serve on the 14th Council (2022-2025) are hereby invited. The Council normally comprises up to 15 members and 14 will be filled by election.

Nominations shall be made in writing using the official AFS nomination form which is attached. The nomination shall be accompanied by a brief biography of the candidate and shall be sent to me by email (preferable) or mail (to the AFS Secretariat) on or before the 28th February 2022. Not more than two persons from the same nationality or from one country or territory in the AsiaPacific will be elected to the Council at the same time. All members are encouraged to consider nominating for Council, particularly women and early career researchers.

Members are urged to give careful and considered thoughts to possible candidates and forward their nominations as soon as possible. Candidates should be prepared to serve the Society with both time and efforts, have well-established scientific career in his/her field of expertise and have the ability to access travel funds to attend the annual council meeting.
